They blew it! They fu#kin blew it!

Yes, Theo Eptstein and Terry Francona has managed two Red Sox World Series Championship teams over the last four years, but they have a problem. Kid Theo needs to understnad that having 12 pitchers on the roster is too many. They need another position player. Nothing was more evident today that another position player is needed. The Yankees were trying their hardest to give the Sox the win. Joe Buck and Tim McCarver were right. If the Yankees blew this game, it would have been devastating.
The Sox had the opportunity to show no mercy, sweep the leg, and take out the Yankees today. The Sox had the bases loaded with no one out. ZERO! All they needed to do was to have either Coco Crisp or Jason Varitek hit a fly ball to the outfield to tie the game. All the Sox Captain needed to do was to hit a sacrifice fly. Hell, I wanted Tek to make an out by hitting a sac fly! When Varitek pooped out to 1st, I new the game was over. I had no faith in Lugo.
Just like that when the Cobra Kai Sansai said to Johnny, "Sweep the leg...Do you have a problem with that?". If he had followed orders, Johnny would have won the All Valley Karate Championship. But no! Just like the Sox today, Johnny literally let Daniel find a way to miraculously win. Today's win for the Yanks keeps them alive. Barely, but they still have a pulse! This is how the game should have ended today!

I want to see the Sox bring up Jed Lowrie of Jeff Bailey. Tito is too much of a player's manager. He has stick with Fat Ass Varitek way too long. Seriously! I know that I'm fat, but I'm not in the MLB. This is frustrating!

Try to not let this song get into your head!

Now that's better!

Well, well, well! I can now step back from the ledge on the Tobin (a.k.a. Charles Stuart Memorial) Bridge as the Sox ended their five game slide and gained 1/2 game on the idle Rays with their 7-0 victory over the Yanks. Jon "Lefty" Lester struck out 8 Yanks in a complete game shutout tonight. This is exactly what the Sox needed. With the bullpen getting rocked over their five game losing streak, Lester's stellar performance gave them the night off. Clutch hitting by Jacoby Ellsbury and Mike Lowell, each with 2 RBI, led the Sox. The Sox were aided by the Yankees hitting into three double-plays.
Hopefully, this is the beginning of a turn around (or at least a slight warming up) for both Lugo and Varitek. Julio Lugo got his 19th RBI of the year, on pace for 36 RBI this season. Varitek went 1 for 3 with a WALK. A freegin' walk! He's now 18 points above the Mendoza Line (.218).
I know that Barstool Sports mentioned this as well, but did you see the girlfriend of the Sox' first round draft pick? Wow!
FYI...Did you know that this series is the first since 1997 between the Sox and Yanks where neither team was in first place? Also, this is the first time that neither the Sox or Yanks were in first place this late in the season since 2000 (Blue Jays).
Oh, one other thing. Where is ARod going to stay now that his wife kicked him out? I hear that Guy RItchie arrived in NYC the other night, so we know Madonna's apartment is not an option.
The real reason for this post was to show this video. Enjoy! Now...Happy Fourth of July!

21 Days until Training Camp!

This is f*ckin' ridiculous!

What is going on with the Sox? The Craig Hansen experiment is over. He sucks! Let him go and let another team sign his overrated ass. Send Manny Delcarmen over to West Roxbury H.S. to apply for the baseball coach's position. He doesn't even know that he should cover first base on a ball to the first baseman. Also, can I please have Javy Lopez (the former Braves catcher) pitch instead of our Javier Lopez, the left handed specialist?
His bench coach should be Jason Varitek. I don't want to hear from any of you 'Tek fans, trying to tell me that "he calls a good game". You know who else calls good games? AJ Pierzynski, Joe Mauer, and Pudge Rodriguez all of them are batting between 25 to 50 points higher than our CAPTAIN. Terry Francona actually put the hit and run on in the 9th with Mike Lowell at first and Varitek at the plate. Yes, the same player who hasn't had a hit since Clinton was in office. Varitek has struck out in 5 out of his last 7 at bats. Give him an early All-Star break. He needs time off. What? Is Kevin Cash going to be any worse?
Daisuke Matsuifuckincantpitchaonetwothreeinningsaka throws way too many pitches early in games. He's spent by the fifthe inning and Tito is left to give the ball to the crappy bullpen. Other than Papelbon, our best relief pitcher is David Aardsma. He's so good that he's pitched for four different teams in four years.
One bright spot in the lineup is Dustin Pedroia. Tonight, DP has 11 total bases (HR, 3B, 2 2B). J.D. Drew had a pretty good June, but he didn't have any clutch hits. The Sox need clutch hitting now. They need clutch pitching even more!
OK, the Devil Rays (yes, I know their name is just the Rays now) are improved this year. But, for the Sox to not win any of the games they've played in Tropicana Field this year is pathetic. The Yankees have struggled and the Sox, yet afreakingain, have not capitalized. Their offense woke up tonight with a nine run inning. Great! Just in time for the Sox series this weekend!
After tonight, the Sox will be 3.5 games behind the Rays and 4 ahead of the Yankees. They need to wake up, quickly. With the Rays playing the Royals this weekend and the Sox playing the Yanks, they could be as much as 7.5 games back on their way to 3rd place by Sunday night.
Until next time....Have a Happy Fourth! Stay safe, but have fun!
