Just a short entry today...My first instinct last night after I hear that a 24 year old with 10 months' experience was the driver of the trolley on the Green Line was that it was human error. HONESTLY! For some reason, I had a feeling that the woman was on her cell phone while driving the trolley. It is early in the investigation led by the NTSB, but it has been reported that eyewitnesses on the trolley have told investigators that they saw Terrese Edmonds on her phone before the crash.
I find it interesting that the Carmen Union's spokesman has already said that new employees need more than 7 weeks of training. I have a feeling that the union is priming its defense of the driver. I'd imagine that an eighth week of instruction showing the dangers of not paying attention while doing your job (i.e., talking on a cell phone making weekend plans to see Sex and the City). If this ends up being true, then plan to pay a higher fare as the T finds cash to settle the multitude of lawsuits that will be sent their way. I am totally against frivolous lawsuits, but I can't think of a reason to be on the T's side.
Well, despite questionable calls by the officials last night the Celtics managed to squeak out a 4 point victory. What the hell was Rasheed Wallace bitchin' about last night? His expletive laced tirade talked about how the refs were calling flops. Huh? Since when has Rick Hamilton played for the Celts? Speaking of which, I am happy that Bitch Hamilton was hurt in the last moments of the game. Did you see what he was doing when he got hurt? He had his arm around Ray Allen's neck. I'm sure that he was just boxing him out. Apparently, Stern has paid YouTube off as I can't get any video of this, but I'll keep trying. Now, it's on to Game 6. I wonder if Stern has assigned the triumvirate of Joey Crawford, Dick Bavetta, and Kenny Mauer to the game to act upon his orders of screwing the Celtics.
Finally, the Malloys lost a member of our family when we had to put our dog to sleep...RIP Jelly Bean (1993-2008). We'll miss you buddy! You will always be Mama's Baby.
